Well hello there! Thanks for popping by...
Now, I am fairly new to blogging, but thought I would give it a whirl! I figured it would be a great way for us to keep our customers up to date with exciting news about what's going on in our kitchen, from delicious new flavours to offers and also the events, markets and festivals that we will be attending in and around Yorkshire in 2011.
Our website should be up and running very soon, with the very kind help of Gavin (thanks Gav!!) so when it is, I will post the link on here and you will be able to see what a fabulous job he has done. These are very exciting (and nerve-wracking) times for us, and I would like to thank everyone who has shown us support so far. From new suppliers, customers and coffee shops selling our cakes, to my lovely family, friends and boyfriend who are always so supportive and encouraging. So thank you to you all, and here's to a cake filled future!!!
To start with, I thought I would post a picture of a cake I made today that will hopefully give you a taster of things to come. A yummy, moist, Red Velvet Layer Cake. This cake originates in the US, and is just wonderful - if you haven't tried Red Velvet yet, pop it on your list. It is a very light chocolate sponge with a cream cheese frosting and is so good. We are currently supplying 'Time Circa 2010' which was formerly 'Hammonds Yard Coffee Shop' in Huddersfield with these delicious layer cakes, along with varied flavours of Cupcakes from our menu. If you are near Kingsgate in Huddersfield and need a coffee, get yourself there. Andrew the owner is very passionate about what they do and I can assure you will be served a very, very nice cup of coffee (and I'm a tea drinker!). I will take some photos of the Alice in Wonderland themed retreat and post them on here soon.
